1st Flatiron

Location and Parking:  The trailhead is at Chautauqua park on Grant and Baseline streets. Parking fills up fast on the weekends. On street parking is available in nearby neighborhoods.

Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous

Trail length: 3.0 miles round trip

Elevation Gain: 1,400 feet

1st flatiron

Starting at Chautauqua Park, you make your way up the trail towards the Flatirons.  The 1st Flatiron Trail leads between the 1st and second Flatirons.  The steep hike opens up to a rewarding view overlooking the city of Boulder on one side and the snow capped Continental Divide on the other.

Good hike close to town

Wear good hiking shoes this trail always makes me feel like I am walking up stairs all day.
